چکیده
Abalone ( Haliotis spp.) are typical nocturnal creatures but discus hannai is bold and active in the nighttime whereas H. gigantea tends to be timid inactive. In this study, we quantified compared differences movement, feeding, digestive physiology between as well potential molecular mechanisms on basis of video observations expression levels genes related feeding regulation. The behaviors both species were characterized by significant circadian rhythms P < 0.05). However, distance moved cumulative duration movement 2.61 1.94 times higher, respectively, than over 24-h cycle. was only 1.15 that , time a percentage (FTP) up 94.6% for 56.0% . peaks α-amylase activity NPF peak OX 2 R level occurred during 20:00–00:00 h. By contrast, alginate lyase NPYR at 16:00 h, when FTP significantly higher These initial findings quantify specific behavior parameters thus provide reference selection appropriate strategies proliferation abalone via bottom sowing.

A novel Gram-negative, aerobic, non-motile and rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain WM67(T), was isolated from the gut of an abalone (Haliotis discus hannai) collected from the northern coast of Jeju Island in Korea. Phylogenetic analyses based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that strain WM67(T) clustered in the genus Pseudoruegeria, and the highest sequence similarity was shared wit...

In this study, two antioxidative substances, a homogeneous polysaccharide [abalone shell polysaccharide (ASP-1), corresponding to the first peak by size exclusion chromatography] and a non-polysaccharide compound [abalone shell compound (ACS-2), corresponding to the second peak by size exclusion chromatography], were extracted from the abalone (Haliotis discus hannai Ino) shell. We primarily fo...
متن کاملCloning and expression analysis of a small HSP26 gene of Pacific abalone (Haliotis discus hannai).
Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are evolutionally conserved from micro organism to mammals and play important roles in many biological processes including thermal tolerance. We isolated a homologue of small HSP26 (sHSP26) from a subtracted cDNA library of heat shock-treated abalone (Haliotis discus hannai). The abalone sHSP26 encompossed 793 nt, including a coding region of 501 nt. The deduced amino...
